combining mild forces such as vortex motion, dry heat, and nitrogen blow
down. Up to 50 tiny samples can be quickly evaporated at once with the
Athena Turbo Evaporator Vertex Dry Evaporators using dry heat and
nitrogen blow down. Dry block heaters have fewer maintenance
requirements than water bath heaters, don't use distilled water or other
additives, and don't introduce any potential sources of contamination.
A wide variety of harsh chemicals can be employed with the Athena Turbo
Evaporator N2 Evaporation Systems, which provides a more effective,
automated alternative to rotary evaporators. A stream of nitrogen or dry
gas is directed downward onto the surface of the turbo evaporator in N2
systems.In order to hasten evaporation and aid in the removal of the
solvent as it evaporates, nitrogen blow down lowers the partial pressure
directly above the liquid. Additionally, vortex motion and dry heat can
be used to speed up the process.
The block holds eight large samples, making it efficient for
environmental and residue testing. In many of these applications, the
samples should not go to dryness. The unique Cool-Zone block and tube
design significantly reduces the evaporation rate after end point is
achieved. The Cool-Zone insulates the samples and allows the researcher
adequate time before the samples reach dryness to remove them or to
perform solvent exchange procedures. Alarms that signal when timed end
point has occurred and when the Turbo Evaporator senses that the process
is nearing completion allow for unattended operation.
